PLAN it WILD Featured on NBC's TODAY Show (Again!)

For the second consecutive year, PLAN it WILD joined NBC's TODAY Show to bring the importance of native plants and biodiversity to a national audience. Building on last year's introduction to our Less Lawn, More Life movement, this year's segment followed the remarkable story of a chickadee—a tiny bird whose survival depends on healthy native ecosystems.

While a chickadee may seem small, raising a single family requires an astonishing 6,000 to 9,000 caterpillars over just a few weeks. Those caterpillars, in turn, depend on native trees and plants to complete their life cycles. It's a powerful reminder that every native oak, cherry, willow, goldenrod, or wildflower planted in a yard helps rebuild the food web that supports birds, pollinators, and countless other species.

The segment illustrated what we strive to show every day: rewilding is more than planting native flowers, it's about restoring the ecological relationships that sustain life. By replacing portions of traditional lawn with diverse native landscapes, homeowners can create habitat that supports everything from caterpillars and pollinators to the birds that rely on them.

We're honored to have been invited back to TODAY for a second year and grateful for the opportunity to share this message with millions of viewers. Every new native planting is another step toward healthier, more resilient landscapes, proving that even the smallest changes can have an extraordinary impact.
